The intense storm that blew through our area on Tuesday wreaked havoc on our trees and caused power outages throughout the neighborhood at various times. With sustained gusts of wind over 40 mph and rainfall totals of at least 5 - 6 inches reported, it resembled more a hurricane at times! No injuries were reported however, and, other than a lot of clean up and repair, Garden Farms residents seem to be pleased with the early season moisture. The creek is flowing at nearly full capacity which is always exciting and tells us our water table is slowly recovering from our long drought. Let's hope for lots more rain this season, but not all at once!
By the way, Monica says everyone is welcome to come gather fallen walnuts on her property. There are plenty to be had. Bring your own container and come on down!
