Congratulations to Kara Hagedorn and Yarrow Nelson who recently completed the purchase of the home they've been renting for the past 2 years at 17400 Oak. It was a long and often stressful process and they are thrilled to now be permanently rooted in our community. 
To celebrate they will be hosting a "House Concert" on December 5th featuring their friend and incredible musician Walter Strauss. A house concert is a chance to experience quality live music in a warm intimate environment. This event will commence at 6:30 p.m. with pre-concert socializing and a potluck meal. Please bring an entree to share and your own beverage. The concert will begin at 7:30. There is a suggested donation of $10-15 per person but, all are welcome regardless of amount donated. Walter is a "wizard of the fingerstyle guitar" (Netrhythms), a songwriter educated by ghosts of the high desert where he was born. His music is both fiery & refined, & his multi-layered guitarwork will make you swear several instruments are playing at once. With roots in American song & a unique style that evokes far reaches of the globe, Walter mesmerizes – be it a song about the vast American West or a guitar translation of West African kora music. They sure love the neighborhood so much. And now that they've bought the home after a long time of staying there, it's sure that they've been even closer to the community as it is close to them. A house concert to celebrate home ownership? Why not?
